Types Of Dental X-Ray
3D Radiographic Imaging (CBCT)
Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a relatively new 3D imaging technology. This form of computerized tomography provides dentists with a quick 3-D image of a patient’s oral or maxillofacial anatomy. The focused x-ray beam reduces scatter radiation, resulting in better image quality. CBCT scanning is painless, noninvasive and accurate. A major advantage of CT is its ability to image bone and soft tissue at the same time.
Extra Oral Digital X-Ray
Extraoral radiographs are used to examine and evaluate the cranium, face or upper and lower jaw for diseases, trauma, or abnormalities. It also assist in evaluating the relationship between various orofacial and dental structures, growth and development of the face, or treatment progression which is important in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning.
In Gentle Dental Surgery, we offer a comprehensive range of extraoral radiographic imaging services, including Orthopantomograms (OPG), Lateral Cephalograms (Lat Ceph) and Frontal Cephalograms.
Intra Oral Digital X-Ray
Intraoral radiograph is one of the most important imaging modalities available in dentistry. It provides high spatial resolution imaging of teeth and surrounding structures. This essential tool can help detect problems that cannot be seen with oral examination and treating these problems early in their developmental stage.
